it’s Ahappy hours around the clock for him.
Having orgasms throughout the day may seem like a dream come true, but it can be a nightmare for sufferers. A woman whose rare condition causes her to wake up spontaneously claims the disease has made her so debilitating she can barely work and barely leave the house.
“It’s not something you want to have… it can be very distressing,” the unnamed 29-year-old warned as she described her “anti-climactic” pain in a viral Ask Me Anything post on Reddit. .
The poor girl specifically suffers from persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD), which involves “experiencing unwanted sensations of arousal in your genitals that do not resolve with one or more orgasms,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The sufferer cannot control when these changes begin – and orgasm does not relieve them.
“It could be anywhere from a few like 3-5 (orgasms) to over 25 … one day I think I had 50,” recalls the Redditor, who says she feels the strongest in her “cervix.”
She has also noticed some warning signs warning of an impending titillation, explaining that “sometimes I panic or dissociate. I have a tingling sensation in my genitals. And I feel like a nice bundle deep inside.”
She added that “it will feel like tingling in my clitoris and then it will spread to my rectal area and cervix.”
While the condition may sound like perpetual pleasure, the Redditor says many paradoxically end up in agony, causing him to panic whenever he feels an impending climax.
“For me, it’s not sudden, but it’s a slow build-up, and the build-up doesn’t always end in an orgasm, so I never know if I’m going to have an orgasm,” she wrote. “It’s such a pleasure that if it ends up causing me pain, it makes me nauseous, and the nausea makes me more scared or upset than the pain, because I hate throwing up.”
The poster said she moaned during an unwanted episode, but now it mostly sounds like she’s in pain.
Spontaneous stimuli are difficult to avoid. The Redditor’s relentless awakenings have historically been triggered by innocuous and random triggers, including wearing certain clothing, sitting on hard surfaces, and even hearing a motorcycle go by.
The Redditor said she avoids masturbating because she doesn’t want to make her symptoms worse.
Thankfully, the woman claims she is less sensitive to stimulation now, but the condition has nevertheless made her life a living hell.
“I order my clothes and stuff and most of my appointments are telehealth,” she said. “I don’t work and I live alone”.
The victim claims that she also missed her mother’s funeral for fear of experiencing involuntary orgasms.
In fact, the Redditor has been so reclusive that she’s confided in only one romantic partner — her long-distance boyfriend, who she describes as “extremely understanding.”
The catalyst for the Redditor’s PGAD remains unclear, however, she claims it may be a trauma response from being sexually assaulted at age 9.
She has also theorized that it could be a side effect of going on and off antidepressants for schizoaffective disorder, an affliction that includes mania, depression and hallucinations.
Meanwhile, experts attribute the disease to various factors, including varicose veins in the pelvis, cysts along the base of the spine and abscesses near the clitoris.
Unfortunately, not much is known about the condition, which affects 1% of women, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The woman claims that she has been reluctant to seek treatment because she has heard that “doctors either respond negatively or have never heard of this condition.”
The audience is also not very understanding.
“Someone here asked me if I can be around the kids and that’s probably the worst thing. I’m afraid someone would ask me because they could interpret my illness as something much more insidious,” she said.
For now, the Redditor says she hides her condition by simply telling people she’s in pain during episodes — which isn’t untrue — while seeking solace in a support group for PGAD sufferers.
“That’s a very good thing,” she said.
A Rhode Island woman previously opened up about her experience with PGAD, saying it’s “not wanted — and there’s no fun” on any level.
“My vulva was constantly burning — it felt like I was naturally aroused, but I didn’t want to,” said Scarlet Kaitlin Wallen, 21.
